first_img COLCHESTER COUNTY: Truro, Robie Street RoundaboutConstruction is underway on the new Robie Street roundabout in Truro. All work in the travel lane will be completed at night with traffic control people on site. Work will be a mix of day and night work, and is expected to continue until Saturday, Aug. 31. Drivers are asked to travel through the work zone with extra caution and be alert for construction staff and slow-moving vehicles. NEW WORK YARMOUTH COUNTY: Bad Falls BridgeThe Bad Falls Bridge on Frotten Road remains closed to traffic because of flooding. The situation will be monitored throughout the weekend. CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Highway 4, Coxheath RoadCoxheath Road, from Keltic Drive to Highway 125, is reduced to one lane for paving. The ramps on Highway 125, exits 5A and 6, and the Highway 4 intersection are also reduced to one lane for repairs. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is expected to continue until Monday, July 15. INVERNESS COUNTY: Long Stretch Road ClosureA section of Long Stretch Road, north of Port Hawkesbury, will be closed at Sugar Camp Brook for culvert repairs. A detour will be marked near the construction area. Work is to be completed Monday, July 15. COLCHESTER COUNTY: Coldstream RoadColdstream Road, about a half-kilometre south of Johnson Road to Route 224, will be reduced to one lane for paving until Sunday, Sept. 15. Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. QUEENS COUNTY: Wagner Brook BridgeWagner Brook Bridge in Port Mouton, near Highway 103, is reduced to one lane for upgrading until Saturday, Aug. 31. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset. CONTINUING WORK HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Joseph Howe Drive OverpassRepairs are being made on the Joseph Howe Drive overpass on Highway 102, Exit 0 until Saturday, Nov. 30. Travel lanes are shifted to accommodate rush hour traffic. Please reduce speed to 50 km/h and drive with extra caution in the area or use an alternate route. GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Melford Brook Bridge The Melford Brook Bridge, on Route 344 at Middle Melford, is closed. A two-lane detour bridge is in place until a permanent bridge is built. The speed limit is reduced to 60 km/h and warning signs are in place. KINGS COUNTY: New Minas to North AltonHighway 1 in New Minas to Prospect Road, ending at Trunk 12 in North Alton, is reduced to one lane for culvert repairs, ditching and repaving until Monday, Sept. 30. Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. VICTORIA COUNTY: Red Bridge, Big Baddeck The Red Bridge on the Old Margaree Road in Big Baddeck is closed to traffic. A detour is in place. The bridge is scheduled to be replaced this summer. PICTOU COUNTY: Millbrook Road, Alma Road, Marshdale Road, and Three Brooks RoadMillbrook Road, Alma Road, Marshdale Road, and Three Brooks Road are reduced to one lane for re-paving until Monday, Sept. 30. Traffic control people are on site but delays are expected. Work takes place Monday to Friday, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Bayfield BridgeBeginning Monday, July 8, the Bayfield Bridge on Summerside Road is closed for repairs. A detour route is marked. The bridge is scheduled to reopen on Friday, Aug. 2. QUEENS COUNTY: Highway 3Highway 3, from Highway 103 west to Eastern Shore Road, has alternating lane closures for repaving and upgrading until Saturday, Aug. 31. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset. LUNENBURG COUNTY: Highway 103Highway 103, from the King Street overpass to Century Drive, will have a one-lane closure for micro surfacing until Monday, Sept. 30. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset. COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 104Highway 104, from the Mines Bass River Road overpass to the Masstown Road overpass, is reduced to one lane for repaving until Wednesday, July 31. Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. INVERNESS COUNTY: Crowdis BridgeCrowdis Bridge is closed until further notice for repairs. A detour is available via Crowdis Cross Road, West Big Interval Road and Hatchery Road. HANTS COUNTY: Route 215The northbound lane of Route 215, north of Beaver Pond Road at Centre Burlington, is reduced to one lane to replace the culvert until Wednesday, July 31. Temporary automatic traffic signals are in place to control traffic. COLCHESTER COUNTY: Route 256Route 256, from Route 311 to one kilometre west of Truro Road, will be reduced to one lane for culvert installation, gravelling and chip seal work until Thursday, Aug. 1. Work takes place from dawn to dusk. INVERNESS COUNTY: Highway 105Highway 105, north of the Aberdeen Motel, for about a half-kilometre, has a one-lane closure for repairs until Friday, July 12. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. LUNENBURG COUNTY: Forties RoadForties Road, from Highway 12 west to Fraxville Road, and from Barss Corner Road west to Aylesford Road, is reduced to one lane for road repairs until Saturday, Aug. 31. Traffic control people are on site. Expect delays of 5 to 10 minutes. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. COLCHESTER COUNTY: Masstown RoadMasstown Road, from the Highway 104 overpass to Debert Road, is reduced to one lane for paving until Monday, Sept. 30. Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. COLCHESTER/HANTS COUNTIES: Highway 102, Shubenacadie RiverTraffic on Highway 102 at the bridges over Shubenacadie River will be reduced to one lane in each direction to allow for repairs on both bridges until Friday, July 5. Drivers are urged to travel with extra caution in the area, and should be prepared for delays or use an alternate route. PICTOU COUNTY: Waterside Bridge ReplacementShore Road will be closed at Waterside Bridge for a bridge replacement project. Shore Road traffic will be detoured onto R. Grant Road, Highway 6 (Sunrise Trail), Three Brooks Road, and Otter Road. Detour signs will be posted. Work is scheduled for completion in late October. LUNENBURG COUNTY: LaHave Islands Bridge ClosureRepairs are underway to the abutments on the LaHave Islands Bridge on Crescent Beach Road in Lunenburg County. The bridge is open but traffic is regulated and delays of up to 20 minutes are possible. The bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30 and Tuesday, Aug. 20 to install and remove jacks at the ends of the bridge. Pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be able to use the bridge during these times. PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104Highway 104, westbound lanes from Exit 19 for about 11 kilometres to the Pictou-Colchester county line, is reduced to one lane until Wednesday, July 31 for paving. Motorists are reminded to use caution when travelling through the construction zone. RICHMOND COUNTY: Cape Auguet RoadStarting Tuesday, July 2, traffic on Cape Auguet Road, from the intersection of Lower Road south for about five kilometres, is reduced to one lane for repaving and other improvements. The work is scheduled for completion on Monday, Sept. 30. Drivers should travel with caution and obey signs and personnel in the area. RICHMOND COUNTY: Highway 4Starting Tuesday, July 2, traffic on Highway 4, from west of Campbells Bridge west for about five kilometres to Hay Cove Bridge, is reduced to one lane for repaving and the replacement of the Hay Cove bridge. Work is scheduled for completion on Monday, Sept. 30. Drivers should travel with caution and obey signs and personnel in the area. HANTS COUNTY: Bridge Repairs, Highway 101Starting Tuesday, July 2, traffic on the Highway 101 bridge over the railway tracks near Falmouth, will be reduced to one lane. Traffic will be regulated by traffic control people and delays are expected. A detour route is available on Highway 1 between Exits 7 and 8. The work will be completed on Monday, July 15. GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Trunk 16Highway 16, at Halfway Cove for about a half-kilometre north, is reduced to one lane for paving until Monday, Sept. 30. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday, and some Saturdays. SHELBURNE COUNTY: Clyde River Bridge Repairs, Highway 103Traffic on the Clyde River Bridge on Highway 103 is reduced to one lane for repairs. Traffic will be controlled by automated traffic signals and delays of about five minutes are expected. The work is scheduled for completion on Friday, July 19. YARMOUTH COUNTY: Bridge ClosedThe Raynardton Bridge on Raynardton Road west of Gavelton is closed for replacement.
