Utah Baseball Hires Gary Henderson As Associate Head Coach

first_img FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailSALT LAKE CITY-Late Thursday, University of Utah baseball head coach Bill Kinneberg announced the hiring of Gary Henderson as the program’s associate head coach.Henderson has 30 years of coaching experience at Florida, Oregon State, Kentucky and Mississippi State.Henderson served as Mississippi State’s pitching coach in 2016-17 and served as the Bulldogs’ interim head coach en route to a berth in the College World Series in 2017.He is best known for being Kentucky’s head coach from 2009-2016.During that time, the Wildcats won at least 30 games in five consecutive seasons for the first time in school history and Kentucky was ranked #1 for three weeks in 2012.Henderson reached 200 wins faster than any coach in program history at Kentucky and 72 players were picked in the MLB Draft or signed as free agents under his watch.Henderson was also a former standout prep quarterback and pitched at Linfield College of McMinnville, Ore. as well as San Diego State.
