They debated various topics in teams, competing for a traveling quilt and a $1500 prize fund to be donated to a local non-profit to be decided by the winners at a later time. “Everything strategy-wise and just discussing how we’re going to approach the debate happens virtually, where we don’t have any face to face interaction, but we know our opponents have the same issues so it’s just another fun challenge,” said Dan Purgel, a participant in the debate.
