Edison James. The Opposition United Workers Party says claims of a possible reshuffle within the Roosevelt Skerrit Cabinet are a mere distraction. The UWP met with local media houses on Wednesday to discuss this and other issues which they say are of national interest. Two local media houses reported earlier this week that they were reliably informed that there could be a shake up within the Cabinet; however there has been no such confirmation or denial by the head of Cabinet.Leader of the UWP Edison James said the prime minister’s silence on the matter could affect his Cabinet members.“An announcement of a reshuffle and media claims can have the impact of some level of destabilization. Ministers could be affected and you have this element of destabilization. This leaves ministers to wonder whether the prime minister is doing things behind their backs”.James said the prime minister has the responsibility to clear the air on the matter.“It is not appropriate to sit back and say nothing and say these fellas say their thing and I am not responding,” James expounded. The UWP said further that the matter could also be a mere political tactic to distract the people from the real issues affecting the country.Dominica Vibes Newslast_img
