Johnny Giles regarded by many as the greatest player to ever play for Ireland visited Letterkenny Golf club last week. The former Leeds United star is now best known for being an integral part of RTE’s coverage of soccer alongside Eamon Dunphy and Liam Brady.He received a warm welcome and posed for a number of photographs from well wishers and took time to sign autographs for younger fans. Giles wasn’t the only former sporting star to play the course as former World Darts champion Bob Anderson also visited the course.Anderson was one of the best players in the world for over 20 years and won several World championship during that time.He also posed with fans who wanted their photo taken with the former Darts champion. Geneva, Switzerland – Watchmaker Maîtres du Temps unveiled its products in Russia and Ukraine recently following the global launch of Maîtres du Temps in April 2008 in Geneva, Switzerland and a 10-day tour of Asia in June 2008.Steven Holtzman, founder of Maîtres du Temps, along with master horologist Roger Dubuis, one of three master watchmakers behind the creation of Maitres du Temps Chapter One, for series of presentations in Moscow and Kiev.The Triumph Gallery in Moscow held a high-profile unveiling and press conference that featured Chapter One set against the backdrop of the Signs of Time exhibition project.“It was both exciting and a special privilege for Maîtres du Temps to present Chapter One in the bustling markets of Moscow and Kiev,” said Mr. Holtzman. “The Russian and Ukrainian consumer has a great appreciation for luxury goods of outstanding quality, and that is compounded by a respect for complicated timepieces and the finer things in life.”The Maîtres du Temps press conference in the Ukraine was held in the Regency Hyatt Kiev Bibliotheque.Chapter One is a world-first combination of complications and is the result of a unique collaboration between master watchmakers Christophe Claret, Roger Dubuis and Peter Speake-Marin. The timepiece features a manual-wind mechanical movement, one-minute tourbillon, mono-pusher chronograph, retrograde date indicator, retrograde GMT indicator, day of the week indication on a roller and a patented precise moon phase indication on a roller. Chapter One’s tonneau-shaped case is available in a limited series of 11 pieces with a suggested retail of US$400,000.
