Barcelona chief insists Arsenal and Chelsea target will stay this summer

first_img Barcelona star Arda Turan 1 Barcelona have no intention of selling Arsenal and Chelsea target Arda Turan this summer, according to the club’s sporting director Robert Fernandez. It has been reported that the La Liga giants are ready to flog the Turkish midfielder within months of him making his debut for the club.Barca completed the signing back in July 2015 but the terms of their transfer ban meant that he did not appear for the first team until January.Arsenal and Chelsea have both been heavily linked with the 29-year-old, who finished the season having started just nine league games for the club.Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are also interested in Turan, who would reportedly be sold should Barca receive an offer worth around £20m.However Fernandez has dismissed those rumours, insisting that they will persevere with the player who enjoyed four impressive seasons at Atletico Madrid before his arrival in Catalonia. He told Marca: “The situation with Arda Turan has not changed.“After a difficult year with all the FIFA trouble, we are hoping for the Arda of Atletico next season.“We are convinced he will perform for us.”last_img
